Nov. 10

I feel cold as the temperature is around 15 degrees these days.

Human body temperature is around 36 - 37 degrees Celcius.

For birds, their body temperature is said to be around 42 degrees Celcius.  I have a sad experience that my 8-year-old cockatiel whom I considered as my daughter found lifeless last February.  It was a cold day, and someone told me that the cockatiel might have died from coldness.  I don't want to repeat the same mistake.

Last week I set up the 100-watt pet heater (orange color) between the two bird cages.

One 3-year-old budgerigar is in the right side of the cage.
Four 2-month-old budgerigars are in the left side of the cage.

My husband said that it is not very effective for birds' to warm up,
so we arranged something today.
